B’Twin Riverside 120 Hybrid – £120
Nearly new with recent service – in perfect mechanical order. Good all rounder, suitable for on and off road. Single shifter for ease of use. Generally excellent condition except for some cosmetic scratches due to storage.
Frame size is Medium which is normally suitable for somebody 5’5″-5’10” (166-177cm).
Commencal Meta 5.5 – £650
Bikes like this don’t come around very often – this Full Suspension MTB is in immaculate condition for it’s age. Costing nearly £3000 when new around 2009, it was one of the best around at the time. The original owner of this one moved abroad soon after buying so it spent most of it’s life in storage – what you might call a “barn find”. I snapped it up it for myself a few years ago but haven’t used it either so now it’s up for sale. Just serviced for selling with new chain, cassette and brake pads (still had originals!). It has 26″ wheels with Shimano hubs and Sun Ringle rims, Maxxis High Roller tyres, Fox suspension, Avid Juicy brakes, Sram 3×9 drivetrain and RaceFace stem/seatpost etc. Everything is in perfect working order as you would expect.
Frame size is large which is normally suitable for somebody 5’10” – 6’1″ (178-185cm).
HSK (Kettler) Alu Rennraad – £185
This is an interesting bike, and ultra rare in the UK. Launched in 1978 by Kettler of West Germany, the HSK Alu Rennrad was the first mass produced aluminium road bike available. Very lightweight, this model was welded unlike some models which pioneered glueing the frame tubes into lugs. This particular bike has Shimano FE and Skylark derailleurs fitted which would suggest it was an early example as most came with the later Shimano 600 series.
It would make a great town or city runabout….. super cool in Berlin! It is in excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically the paintwork has around 45 years of “patina”. It has been recently serviced with new tyres and cables etc so it’s ready to go.
Frame size is 23.5″ which is roughly equivalent to a modern Large.
